Anita Inverarity is a full time artist from Aberdeen, Scotland.
Anita completed a qualification in Graphic Design & Illustration in the mid 80's and describes her artistic journey "as coming home" after several careers along the way. Some of these “diversions” have included Optical Dispenser, Comic Store Proprietor, Charity Founder and Childcare Manager, during which time she never stopped creating in some capacity or other.
Recently Anita found the need to work from home a necessity and returned to art with a passion in 2011. Since then she has enjoyed representation with several galleries and exhibits regularly. Highlights have included a visual artists award for her project "Whisper of the Sith" in 2012.
Describing her work as borrowing from the ancient, the arcane and the esoteric in a subtle way, Anita weaves intricate pattern and line with her pens, exploring beauty and nature with a "universal folk twist".
"I like the idea of creating otherworldly scenarios which are inhabited my my romantic maidens and their creature friends. Influences include world Myth and Legend, Folk Tales, Fairy Tales and Wildlife & Nature"
